......I enlisted as the crew of the ship, "Spearstrike", times of glory for that vessel passed away long time ago, sails were ripped here and there and repaired poorly.
Deck boards were old and distorted in many places, but captain was enlisting for long trip, and I need long time away from Umbar, I have enough of running and hiding.
How should I know that this cheating, bed smelling and dimwited man was son of notable captain. I would just scare him if i knew, i would never provoke him to attack, but i did.

I am troubled.

Lorien is more than I could have imagined. The City of Caras Galadhon so overwhelmed me that, I admit, I quickly fled to the Vineyards.

I could not write much during my passage over the mountains. Suffice it to say the trip was brutal and cold, the landscape stark and mostly hidden by falling snow, and I am shocked that I was not attacked by more than a few stray goblins and bears.

I have not enjoyed my time in Eregion. 

I know, I know. My father (much less my grandfather) would be horrified, I am sure, to learn that I am less than pleased with my exploration of this place. Yet I cannot help it. The land itself is beautiful, but there is something strange about it--something eerie and echoing, at least to my mind, something empty and sad. 

I departed Evendim in sadness--though I plan to return there. There is beauty there, and I shall miss Nethrandir's company. It becomes clearer to me all the time that Men are indeed destined to rule this land once I and my kin are gone.
