I departed Evendim in sadness--though I plan to return there. There is beauty there, and I shall miss Nethrandir's company. It becomes clearer to me all the time that Men are indeed destined to rule this land once I and my kin are gone.
Meanwhile, after several days hard riding, I have returned to Imladris. It was good to see familiar faces (Lady Himwen and Lord Tindir in particular have always been very welcoming.) I found myself of course in the Hall of Fire, and was delighted to play music with several new friends--Lady Eglaniel of Lorien, and Hirthavron, a maker of instruments.
My mother, it seems, has departed for Lorien. She left a letter for me; and while she did not say, I suspect she and my father may remain there until it is time for them to go West.
Something strange...the more and the further I have traveled, the more restless I have become--new experiences have not quenched my curiosity, but only made me eager for more. Previously I had been loath to enter Eregion--now I am determined to see that land.
