I got the letter from Miss Evallin, Inviting me to the hall a few days ago but I had no idea what it was for, at first I just thought it was just another job offering. But a invitation to join her Ladies Company it wasn’t my first choice of thought. I don’t regret the choice It is a nice not to be alone once again and besides the people so far I have met it appears things will be interesting, and they are all good fighters learnt that first hand got my self bested twice.

I finally decided to write out a summary of fourteen years. I'll try to make it brief. Let me see. If you are reading this, then I've most likely given you permission. Otherwise, where this little tale is picking up from, won't make much sense.  Moving on.

Day 200 at Duin Dae

I am iron, I am stone.  I cannot be moved.  I cannot be outlasted.  I cannot be overcome.

The training has increased, so much so that in the past days and weeks I have had no energy to do anything but sleep and eat.  But I notice the effects, and my muscles no longer scream when I lift my spear, my arm no longer complains when my shield rests upon it for many hours.

Day 30 at Duin Dae

Even as I lay here in my bunk, my muscles burn with a fire that has not extinguished in many days.  As my fingers grip quill to pen this, blisters burn, worn into my skin from long hours training with the blade.  My shield arm is marked with burns and bruises, byproducts of the straps that hold my aegis to me.

Day 1 at Duin Dae

I arrived at the fort this morning, a short ride from the boughs of Lorien.  How different these walls are!  No mallorn trees surround me, just stone, dwarf-laid and nigh on impregnable.  Magnos the Shield-wall is the Commander of the Fort, and he has assigned me to train further under Aren Sornic of Dale.  While I've no doubt Aren is a capable fighter, I will be surprised if his prowess rivals that of the Marchwardens.

Thamas Lorn, 43rd day of Iavas

We returned to the dear embrace of Thamas Lorn this night.

I feel relief, elation...and sorrow also. So much has come to pass this season...many great deeds witnessed...and it seems there is yet much that needs done. The magnitude of peril exceeds our darkest fears, and demands our utmost vigilance and action.

This inkwell is near dry...and I must rest at last.

(Daerundros thoughtfully places the tip of her quill on her lip, thinking of something to write, before she jolts, filled with an idea, and begins to scribble)

6th Orgilion of Laer, T.A 3018

Ah, where to begin.
The first foot of our journey is already planned, and we are to leave later this evening, heading for Celondim, and from there, we take a boat to Pelargir. After we reach Pelargir we make for south Gondor, and finally, approach Near-Harad.

"You must travel with me Daerundros. I am serious." Minyelaire said, looking at me intently. I pondered for a moment, thinking, before I decided that I wished to come to this journey to Harad. In truth, I was very tired of sitting in Imladris doing nothing: I wanted to go outside again."
