Evendim Journal Entry 2: Tham Nambarth

I spoke to Ranger Orchalwë, who told me about the Fields of Twilight. The area, just east of Tinnudir, once was an area with large estates belonging t noble families. Now the estates are long fallen into ruin, but they still hold significant historical value and there are still evidence of this to be found. However, in recent years, with the dwindling numbers of the Rangers and the increase in evil activity the ruins have fallen into total decay and disintegration.

Story

Taraborn sat atop his horse, Thunder, looking along the East-West road, the sun rising in the distance. A gentle breeze ruffled through his thick, black hair and he sighs with content. He was heading off on a new journey, not knowing where it might end. The road was enticing, and he itched to get moving once again.

The chill morning breeze plucked at errant blonde locks as Cyndwin, late of Rohan, stilled in the saddle to gaze up at the looming ruin atop the ancient hill, dark cutout silhouette against the false dawn slowly resolving into color with the world around it.

Fairwind nickered gently, hooves clopping on the broken stones of the pathway, as though questioning both the hour of this ride and the stop in the cool dawn. His rider leans forward to pat his neck gently, half aware, eyes still locked on the ruined majesty of the tower above.

First entry

Here I sit, in hiding, to write my thoughts to you, Ola, honoured father of father. My heart still grieves for you, though it has been 5 winters since you left us. I still remember the day, that day when you did not return to the homefire. Wicked magic it must have been, which made that bear so strong, for you were the best hunter and warrior we knew.
