Background
Alcaron was born in Imladris in year 655 of the Third Age. He spent his youth being educated by the great scholars in a vast array of subjects, though his care-free attitude made him rebellious and stubborn.
In adolescence he traveled to the Golden Wood, where he studied the herbalist's craft and found an interest in astronomy.
When traveling back to Eriador through the Misty Mountains, his company was attacked by a band of Goblins and Wargs. There were few casualties, but Alcaron realized that he must learn to defend himself properly.
Upon his return, Alcaron began his training with the sword. He also began to work escorting trade caravans to and from the Dwarven Stronghold of Khazad-dum. He quickly developed a fondness for the Durin's folk, in particular for their simplicity and lack of Elven sophistication.
When the forces of Angmar began its conquest of Eriador in 1409, Alcaron's skills in combat were first put to the test. He joined a company of Elves to aid the Dunedain in the war. He primarily served as a scout and a skirmisher, fighting in small engagements with orcs, the men of Rhudaur, and even some creations of the Witch-King's foul sorcery.
The kingdom of Angmar was eventually defeated, and the Nazgul dispersed, but years later a new challenge presented itself. The Great Plague spread across Eriador in year 1637. Alcaron attemted to assist the suffering men of Ardor by providing medicines, but all elixirs he knew of proved to be of little use against the contagion. Alcaron was forced to watch as the population of Eriador was decimated by the contagion, and the few who survived struggle to rebuild amongst the ruin.
In 1980, trade with the Dwarves of Moria ceased when Durin's Bane awoke, and many of Alcaron's friends among them were slain. Lady Celebrian also departs for the West some years later, and the Halls of Imladris fell ever more silent.
Alcaron departed from Imladris in 2515, and settled in Lindon. When Thrain and Thorin relocated to Ered Luin in the year 2802, Alcaron attempted to assist in their efforts to rebuild, however the Dwarves of Erebor didn't take kindly to his offer. They seemed to be more jaded, and less friendly to his kind than their ancestors in the old days of Khazad-dum.
Alcaron didn't return to dwell in Imladris until the year 2960, after seeing his parents off in their departure into the West. He has since dwelled among his kin, assisting the Lord Elrond and rid the Free Peoples of Eriador in their defense against the renewed threat of Angmar.
