Captain's Quick Report:  Fashion Competition Awards & Closing Ceremony (Grenrill Village Anniversary Festival)

The conclusion to four weeks of festival celebrations for Grenrill Village and The Northern Garrison took place just a short hour ago, with the final attendees departing in good order from the Grenrill Trading Guild -- with warm hearts and spirits all around

From the early days of the Opening Ceremony and Fishing Party, to the Farmer's Market in Buckland, then to the Ribbon-cutting of Grenrill's Trading Guild and Fine Auction, and the Fashion Competition event the next day -- it has been a most worthy string of celebratory events this old Bree Captain has been privileged to see.

As a brief summary for this report, where a more detailed document shall be written and released at a later time, the events today started off with Commander Kristjon and Lady Mindriana speaking inside The Northern Garrison's Kinhouse.  The winners and runner-ups of the Fashion Competition event several weeks ago were also named through Lady Mindriana, and several happened to be in the crowd to receive their recognition.  I believe it was:

Winner in the category of Ladies Elegant Formal Wear:

Eliynor Irwin, The Valiant

Runner Up:
Glauraras, Heroine of the Lost

Winner in the category of Male Formal Wear:

Thiniryl Ithilcrist, Student of the Past

Runner Up:
Eallwundor

Winner in the category of Ceremonial Warrior:

Eallwundor

Runner Up:
Eliynor Irwin, The Valiant

Winner in the category of Rustic Warrior:

Mynna Thistle, Librarian

Runner Up:
Guardsman Dawnelia, Queen of the Mountain

Winner in the category of Avant-Garde:

Guardsman Dawnelia, Queen of the Mountain

Runner Up:
Mynna Thistle, Librarian

Afterwards, just as we were to begin the journey down the hill to continue the celebrations at the Grenrill Trading Guild building, a sudden burst of newcomers strode through the doors!  From small to tall, and bearded to long-eared -- with sudden joy to this Captain of Bree's heart did members of Coursera (( Course of the Ring )) appear, and in no small numbers!  From a small gathering of perhaps just a handful did this ending celebration truly become a larger one in crowd and scale.  The Coursera folk probably had brought another eight or more in their company to attend the closing ceremonies and celebrations!

With stirring conversations and a brief tour and greetings from Master Kristjon, Commander of The Northern Garrison, both parties fell into good spirits and chatter, with stories and contacts exchanged for future collaboration between both Coursera and Northern Garrison I suspect.  Soon, a member of Coursera, a Master Azated of that rumoured bear-shifting sorts, offered to demonstrate his talent for fireworks outside the building, and Master Eallwundor partook in an outstanding selection of musical tunes that made the night outside amongst all these good folk a truly celebratory time in the anniversary spirit of Grenrill Village and The Northern Garrison.

For a good while there was further talks in between the astounding fireworks, a few campfires were lit, and even dancing was had as Master Eallwundor continued to play several stirring tunes that touched many of our hearts.

Though such a wonderful event came to an end just hours ago, as folk made their farewells in cheerful spirits and appreciation to our hosts in The Northern Garrison and Grenrill Village, I must sit back here just outside the Bree-land Homesteads and reflect what has passed with these trustworthy and warming individuals of The Northern Garrison, of Grenrill Village, and of Coursera (( Course of the Ring )) -- there has great joy and celebrations here among these people -and if fates allow- may many more fair winds of destiny and inspirational moments of joy still blow their way yet.

An outstanding commendation and congratulations on the successful conclusion of this year's Grenrill Village Anniversary Festival for Grenrill Village and The Northern Garrison kin.  On behalf of the Bree Captain's Guild, it was my great honor and joy to have been in attendance to most of the festivities.  These are lively and caring folk, whom help bring vibrant life and joy into Middle-Earth, and may their tales in these lands go on with continued success for many years to come!

Signed,
