In the Fortress of the Trees, Parnard stood before Captain Lomdognir to give report. He was overdue at camp by several days, and when he returned, he was covered in mud and had the shaft of an arrow sticking out of his shoulder.

Encampment south-west of Goblin-Town.

 

A war in the freezing colds from the mountains of mist had started. Rangers, Elves and a small company of Dwarves laid siege upon the Goblin-encampment.

Status:

The settlement of Zigilgund is functioning well, and all crucial supplies are in stock or available through trade or hunt. The dwarves are in good health and better spirit, and are coping well with the cold.

The new mine has yet to strike the motherlode, but current excavations are showing signs of precious metals, and some refinement has been commenced.

Report for the attention of Curugirion, regarding the delivery of his message to the Master of Gondamon.
 
(The report in contained in a neatly rolled scroll, sealed with a blue ribbon, presented to Curugirion two nights after the return of Aearlinn, Hadorear and Istuir from Gondamon. Written in Sindarin, the script is in Aearlinn’s flowing, but slightly hurried hand, and in a more straightforward manner than her usual recording of events.)

A cool breeze was blowing across the pool as Fundinul arrived at the entrance to Khazad-Dum. The gate way was open and there was a lot of activity around it. Several large carts were being unloaded of their contents and a line of Dwarves was passing the various crates and boxes between them and into the gate. Behind him more carts were arriving and either side of the convoy a line of Dwarves matched to a steady regimented pace. Each one wore a set of fine plated armour and carried a large pack on his back.
