It had taken more than a sword to convince the Lady of the Lake,
but now Lindeman could return to Tinnudir in triumph. He and Jeric
would turn that tomb upside down to find those adamants for Aragorn,
who apparently was a distant relative to King Elendil himself.
[31.10.2007]
"And there is more", said Grant the Head of Squires. "There is news from
Bree that lady Cleanna has shown interest in the quest for the adamants."
"Cleanna of Bree?"
Lindeman was amazed.
"You mean the lady who is a leader of a band; not a musical band, but
a band of adventurers?"
Lindeman stared blankly for a moment, then exclaimed: "There must be
some greater significance to this Aragorn and his broken sword!"
[2.11.2007]
Dragging a young hobbit with her Cleanna finds Lindeman at an inn in Bree. "now this little one is great for those moral boost needed when running around in tombs! However he has promised to do some chores and can not make it till later...
Clint removed the helmet and smiled. The Farmer and the Patron
chuckled.
"Lady Cleanna, as you can see I am not Lindeman but Clint, one of his
squires. A herald, if you like. Using my master's old armour causes
misunderstanding but it also brings me in touch with the right people."
"As for the expedition, there is still room in the fellowship.
The captain does not like to tarry, but neither does he wish to enter
the tomb unprepared. If the others can tolerate this delay, he will
choose to wait as well."
Clint bowed quickly and hurried off to pass on the message.
...
"And so, m'lord, I agreed to join them to try and recover the gem." scout inclined his head slightly indicating that his report is finished. After a moment of silence tall elf sitting in front of Belgrandir nodded and smiled: "Well done. You shall be our eyes there, make sure the gem gets delivered to Elessar and no-one else. Be carefull, and may Elbereth watches over you, my friend." With a bow Belgrandir left the room to gather his belongings - the road to Tinnundir was not a short one, and there was no time to loose...
[4.11.2007]
To wait idle in Tinnudir while robbers could be looting the tomb?
Lindeman had a different idea.
He walked to Calenglad and bowed.
"Master Calenglad, a fellowship has been formed as you requested.
The Five Chosen From the Race of Men will gather
to depart from Tinnudir as the stars align themselves."
"These are Belgrandir the Hunter, Lady Cleanna of Bree,
Jeric of Dale, Lindomir Champion of Gondor and
myself, Lindeman Defender of Bree-land."
"There is also a sixth one. Either a hobbit troubadour or another
minstrel will seek to join us. If this happens after we have
departed, I ask you to instruct him to us."
[6.11.2007]
Having been away such a long time, Lindeman was eager to recount
the adventures to the Farmer and the Patron. The Prancing Pony Inn
now looked different to him: smaller, perhaps, and more peaceful.
"...Lindomir's fate was not to be with us, so Belgrandir asked a fellow
hunter from the House of Aranohtar to join us. We saw robbers and
things I do not wish to talk about. Five Chosen From the Race of Men
we may have been, but in the end it was the hobbit troudadour Sereric
who saved us. He kept playing his music no matter what happened,
in spots where others would have fallen."
...
"And so we delivered the gem to the Lord Aragorn and in Imladris the blade of Narsil was reforged as Anduril."
Belgrandir finished his tale and leaned back in chair, enjoying the moment of rest.
"Very well done my friend. Very well indeed. Unless you are pursuing matters of utmost importance, you have leave to assist this group of adventurers should oportunity arises again. They appear to be valiant and having the best interests of Free Folk on their mind." Lord Cironael Aranohtar smiled and looked at the map displaying positions of Enemy forces around the lake Evendim. The bold expedition into the tomb of Elendil might give another oportunities to continue the seemingly endless battle...
