Entry 005 - May 3rd & 4th

--May 3rd

Newly returned to Bree from Cardolan, I met my friend Hamelmond again as well as a hobbit called Herman (Hermanniadoc). They told me about a festival in the shire. Hamelmond also mentioned how he sometimes spends most of his days in bed, almost like it's a sickness. I mentioned the next dwarven caravan market would be in Evendim and suggested Hamelmond attend.

After Herman left, me and Hamelmond headed for the festival. However, by the time we arrived at the party tree, there was barely anyone there. Disappointed, Hamelmond decided to instead show me his lovely home. I noticed he had some similar decorations to myself. After we spend some time chatting, over tea, he offered to let me stay the night, but I decided to make an early trip to Evendim instead. As I had never been there, I wanted to get my bearing, so I wouldn't get lost on my way to the caravan market. Hamelmond said to keep an eye out for a large statue he remember from when he last visited that area.

After some time on the road I did indeed find the statue Hamelmond had mentioned. I asked some people there for directions to Ost Forod, where the market would be, and they told me it was further north from there. On way north I passed a smaller statue, some beautiful buildings and a road sign, which told me I was on the right track. Once arrived, at Ost Forod, I looked for a place to sleep and eventually found a makeshift tavern with some tents.

I attended the dwarven caravan market, once it arrived in Ost Forod. Met my friend Frimsi again and was also introduced to another dwarf named Flovald. Kolbrandr eventually showed up as well and I told him how I had mentioned his craft to a bard with a shot shoulder, but that she had not seemed very keen. He laughed and admitted a shoulder might have been hard for him to replace anyway, so maybe it was for the best.

At this point I saw no sign of Hamelmond, or the grave robbers that were rumored to be in the area, so I spend some time playing music for the people at the market. At one point and elf arrived and had a long conversation with Kolbrandr, though mostly in some kind of elvish tongue, which I do not speak.

Frimsi was eventually summoned by the arbiter of Ost Forod. While he was away Hamelmond finally arrived. Once Frimsi returned, he told us the grave robbers had been caught. Even so, I chose to remain for a while longer, to play music and chat with my friends until people began dropping away.

I eventually returned home to Bree.
