Event details:
The High Feast of Valinor in ages past was a celebration made by Manwë at each first gathering of the fruits of the Kingdom of Arda. All the peoples of Valinor would gather in joy with song and music upon Taniquetil praising Eru.
Elves in this age still keep the memories of the high feast, as brought to them through the traditions of the exiles of old. All elven kindred revere Yavanna for giving life to all that grows, flowers and ripens, and praise the creator for these gifts. And all elven kindred celebrate to some degree, and every season, as these fruits of the earth are harvested, coming together in joy to share and feast,
The house of Vanimar invites all elves in Rivendell to come together and celebrate the high feast in memory of ages past and to share in this joy.
We will take a moment during the feast to jointly give thanks and praise to Yavanna and Eru. Participating elves are encouraged to bring symbolic gifts of the earth to share as we come together to praise Yavanna and the creator.
A small buffet is offered, together with the gifts that participants bring.
This is an elven role-playing event, and may be considered timeless should you wish to participate with an elf that may be elsewhere at that time. Because this is an elven event, we ask of you to bring elven characters. Dress code is leisure wear, as it is a relaxing event meant to enjoy the fruits of Yavannas work.
We will gather in the sanctuary of Imlad Gelair within Rivendell Valley in the Trollshaws [32.4S, 2.2W].
Visitors are encouraged to “bring” (role-playing), symbolic fruits (produce) of the lands that they have gathered, to be shared at the small ceremony.
Visitors are also encouraged to share in tales or poems of celebrations in the past. The celebration is short, but there is time for sharing of songs and music as well as eating, drinking and much mirth.
