"Valour. Possessing the courage to face all challenges with a resolute and morale heart. It is important that bravery and courage should not be confused with pride. Bravery and courage are necessary to Identify and achieve life goals and the setbacks that surround them... This, was the first lesson I learned."
Cynraede stood with his hands held behind his back, staring out into the night sky. Pellam, beside him, had just turned sixteen. His hair fashioned in a short, clean cut manner and his tunic bearing the colors of midnight blues and blacks. The young boy looked up to him and continued to listen.
"What do you see up there Pellam? What do you see in the heavens?" Cynraede asked, his gaze turning to the child beside him.
"I see stars, thousands of them. I see the night, covering the sky like a blanket." Pellam's eyes lifted to the evens, looking to them thoughtfully, even for a child.
"Very good Pellam. We are the Order of the Seven, we up hold multiple tenants but group them into seven. This will be your first lesson. You will see things, fight things and do things that will frighten you Pellam, but you must do these things." Cynraede continued to stare out into the night sky, glittering stars set in the sky like brilliant diamonds.
"But why?" Pellam asked curiously, looking up at him again with the eyes that spoke volumes even at his young age.
"Because, we must do these things so that others do not have to. So they can live their lives in peace, tranquility. We, are different. The Order of the Seven is like the stars, many in the sky. Beautiful, gleaming. Full of light. I was never like that, most of the Order did not know that I existed or what I did. Few, still know or understand it. We are the night, around the stars. Shrouding them, protecting them. The enemy fears the dawn, we make them fear the night." Cynraede spoke, his voice soft and calm as his gaze shifted to the young man.
"We must become the things that they fear, the things that we fear?" The child asked with an inquisitive tone.
Cynraede paused for several moments before looking down to him again. "Do you fear the night?"
The two stared at each other for several moments. The young man shook his head. "I'm not afraid."
Cynraede nodded and lowered his head solemnly. "You will, in time."
