Case 102: The Gentleman - 2

When inquiring with the 'Viper' about his knowledge surrounding the Gentleman.

Dagramir: "The man is a sociopath. I met him once, as he was visiting dear Doctor Etheridge at his cell. From what I picked up, he is arrogant, foolish, twisted in the mind.. He can adopt personas in an instant, and it would not surprise me if he had many 'disguises' to roam around freely through the town. He is not like the 'Ripper'.. Not quite..'

Rhyva: 'What sets him aside?

D: 'His mental state.. He appears to almost idolize the 'Ripper', mimicking his movements, and the actions he took to publically display his victims. He would appear to have a much larger ego, as well.'

R: Interesting. Can you tell me more about these disguises? They must be.. Very well thought through.'

D: "I'm afraid I can't.. But I could describe what a man such as him might disguise himself as.", he would shrug, taking a few steps over to the table.

R: It might help to find him. I'd also like to know what his true appearance is, would it be an elderly man, or would that count among his disguises?'

D: 'I would assume no one would know his true appearance.. When I met him, he wore long 'elegant' robes, with thick brown gloves and a foolish top hat. He was of an average build, seemed confident enough to not have been an older man. I would assume when he adopts other disguises, he would wear the plainest thing possible, simple rags or robes. 'Perhaps an occupation such as a farmer, or laborer. Nothing that would stand out of an ordinary, Bree-ish crowd.

R: 'What I've managed to uncover is.. A bit sad. That could be really anyone. I know that he contacts people with letters, and it would seem that I would have to catch him while he is giving out one of his letters.. Otherwise, his identity is unconfinable.'

D: No, no.. That shall not be your opportunity.. I fear blood must be spilled for us to catch him, but..", he would smirk, leaning forwards and setting his hands onto the table, "That is where I, and my proposition, would come in

R: Blood has already been spilled, unfortunately.. But I will hear you through.'

D: I know that.. I have been to both locations of the crimes.. It would appear he would be imitating the Ripper's method of public display, and that, shall be where you catch him.. I know how to handle men like him, and I have somewhat of an influence with other's who hunt for these 'murderers', and I feel I can be of some use to you.'

R: You've been to the crime scenes, but is there some discernable pattern to them, that could point towards his next target?'

D: 'No.. Not yet. If you want a pattern, allow him to murder more innocents to figure that out. He will not be caught with no more blood being spilled, that isn't how it works. Sacrifices shall be made.'

R: That isn't exactly what I like to hear. It's quite exactly what my job isn't, but if it does happen, what if your angle from there?'

D: 'I would advise not falling into the trap your predecessor fell into, of putting the needs of the few before the many.. Dear Yisabelle did not consider having a discussion with me, or perhaps allying with any of the 'vigilantes' roaming the streets, so the body count of the 'Ripper' went higher. To establish. To establish some sort-of pattern, or weakness, more crime scenes must be made.'

R: 'I think of it objectively. Vigilantes are better than murderers. no matter how you look at it.'

D: 'Indeed they are. So consider this proposition. Allow me, and a few allies of mine, to work alongside you. We can issue reports to you, with our views and thoughts upon new occurrences, making your job so much easier. I can practically guarantee results, Captain.'
