After Action Report: Day 7 - Angmar!
I have to admit I am a bit disappointed, gladly disappointed.
We were ready to march when arrows started to rain upon us. The enemy waited until that very moment to unleash the strike I was waiting for, we quickly ducked and took cover. Linfield and I shot some arrows to give some covering to Wyndslaw while he made a flanking manoeuvre upon the enemy, Gardella mounted and made for a very dashing decoy while Belagor led the rest of the company away down the road.
Then Wyndslaw and Gardella smashed at the enemy on both flanks, luck favours the bold, the enemy were just a handful and between them both and Linfield turned the cultist into mincemeat. My only explanation is that they were waiting for reinforcements and attacked only when was obvious we were moving away, maybe I overestimated their resources and the two score or so we have dispatched so far represented the bulk of their forces in this region.
In any case, we weren't to wait there for the answer, we marched quickly after our companions and linked with them north of Esteldin. We wasted no time and continued our way towards the pass to Angmar. Once again I feared the enemy would block our way there but I was gladly disappointed , there was no trace of the enemy and we were lucky enough to deal only with a couple of wild beasts.
We arrived to a murky encampment, not worthy to be named a village, we made camp there. I hate this bleak place, I hate the filthy people who lives here, I hate the oppressing mountains all around, I hate the taste of water around here, is like having a mouthful of brimstone. The only good thing is we are now closer to Charlithel, or so says Belagor, we need to find her quickly and leave this horrid place as soon as possible.
