After Action Report: Days 5 & 6 - Rest & Recovery
The calm before the storm, or so I fear.
Morning of the 5th brought new hope to our Company. Ivlathdur arrived early with news of Nienora, she was rescued and safe, seems her elven stalker played a key part in her liberation. According to Ivlathdur it was in the knick of time, she was already tied to the sacrificial stone. She remained most of that day recovering her strength in the care of Bradien and one of those shady fellows, a ranger. Bradien and Nienora came back to the farm late in the afternoon.
By noon, Ivlathdur had marched out again to look for the rest of the company. Meanwhile Wyndslaw was stable, he presented no fever and was deep in a healthy slumber for the mayor part of the day. The rest of the company arrived in the afternoon, with Belagor and Ivlathdur at the head, battered and weary but without casualties.
Then was the turn to look for Gardella, Ivlathdur proved his stamina marching out again to search for her. Belagor took care of Caravaggio and it was time for me to have some rest. When I woke up by sunset the whole company was assembled again, even Gardella though she was still in shock an unfit for duty. The company was in a deplorable state, most of us had been on active duty for the last 40 hours at least, marched countless miles, fought the enemy and had no nourishment worthy of that name. There was no option but to remain in the farm and gather our strength so I kept the night watch while the company rested.
The night passed without incident as so did the next morning. The men are still weary and recovering. Nienora and Colthuin being the ones in worst shape due to their captivity. Cpt. Wyndslaw is back to his senses and recovering outstandingly under Belagor's tutelage, we three had a council in the afternoon and made plans for departure by dawn tomorrow.
I am deeply troubled by the apparent absence of enemies, we have had no contact with any them for more than 36 hours now but I can't believe they simply retreated, I feel in my gut they are up to something. We have lingered in this ruined farm too long but we gain nothing by marching out now with only half of our numbers ready for combat, at least we can defend in this place better than in the open, though I seriously dislike it as the farm is dominated by low hills to the west and south.
I pray for a night without incidents, I won't be at ease until we put some miles between us and this place.
Able for duty: Ivlathdur; Bradien; Belagor; Kissare; Linfield
Wounded and/or recovering: Cpt. Wyndslaw; Gardella; Nienora; Colthuin
