A warm breeze blew gently in Velithryth’s face as she wove flower crowns out of the yellow dandelions that grew around her house in Harwick. Her small fingers pinched and pulled the stems as she hummed a little tune that only she knew. Her mother idly watched the young girl from afar as she weeded her growing potato patch, occasionally placing a yellow dandelion in a pile for Velithryth to add to her crowns. A chestnut mare strayed on the grass nearby.

"So it has come to this. The night before starting our journey to Eorlsmead..."

Régnwald sat in his room in the upstairs of Mead hall. The map rolled out in front of him and only lighted up by the stump of a candle. Commander Seoca of Etheburg walked her over the bridge that needed many repairs, the man was tall and imposing even for an Eorling, and very tired of this place as he said. Cynebur watched him walk, under heavy burden of chainmail and hauberk with ease. His eyes were wise yet smile toothless, as he leaned on the fence of the crossing bridge over wide yet shallow Langflood.

The caravan rolls down the road from Faldham, they had just passed through with their cargo bound for Hawick, food stocks for the harvest as requested by the Thane. Emdar rode behind the wagon seated upon his horse, thoughts of Wulfreda filled his mind and of the talk they had the previous night, he would not have usually accompanied such a minor delivery but he had needed to clear his head.
