Shire Rose pendant

    Her birthday today - an other year had passed in almost an instant or so it seemed to her. Yuletide her favorite time of the year - the time for comfort, good food, and warmth...time for the gentle touch of a loving hand, a talk beside the fire, time for 'home'. Yule was sitting by the hart with her family and friends around her but her mind was miles and miles away.

The pale light of the full moon that lit the Great Road. yule was holding the reins of the pony harnessed to her wagon. She paced slowly onwards in the direction of Buckland, her bare feet treading out the path that was taking her back to the Shire and her memories on  this noiseless night under the moon. Her hair unbound, her robe uncintured. She knew she was probably watched by hidden eyes in the dark shadows.

Yule came awake slowly. She blinked a few times, yawned, and stretched her body on the soft grass by the Staddlemere. The sun was setting, turning the calm waters into a lake of golds and reds, sprinkled with gems, the first stars appearing in the darkening sky. Yule had gone for a swim , early in the afternoon, and had fallen asleep  on the shore. She lay calm, savoring the peace and quiet of Breeland spring evening.

Garry waited patiently, leaned back against the big tree in the warm afternoon winter-sun.
