After arriving in Rivendell, Cirthel is made aware of some most disturbing news. It seems she will not be able to deliver the charts, but that is the least of her concerns. In order to ponder her future actions, she retires to the falls and lake and swims a while in her element.

'Carry these charts to the Lord Anglachelm of the Bar en Vanimar in Imladris. I gift them to him in memory of times past. May they be of use to him.'

So it was I took ship up-river to Celondim under the brilliant light of Ithil, after whom I am named, and set out on the first stage of my journey East.
