Rivendell

Duarion and I were still half asleep, when an elf knocked on our door to deliver a letter. The sun was dawning over Rivendell and I slowly opened my eyes to take the letter, which was addressed to Lady and Lord Thorongial in Rivendell.
I recognized Marlyn's careful handwriting on it.

Duarion tugged at the material of his dark, grey and slightly muddy cloak. He felt comfortable with his shadowy appearance, although some might mistake him for a brigand or thief. It was useful for moving unseen, not to mention recalling some of the sable materials of the armies of Gondor, his home.

"Are you ready?" an elf called from the door.

Glancing over at his sleeping wife, he bent over and gave her a gentle kiss. "I'll be back soon, my dear," he whispered.

It was the dim hope of another, better life that I saw in his eyes, when he revealed that he plans to go to Rivendell to gather his strength again.
I couldn't let him go again, never will I lose him again!
Didn't I give him a promise at our wedding? Here is the time to prove my words:
"You will have to get used to the fact, that I won't let you go without me. I will stay at your side and join you on your travel."

Rivendell is a wonderful place. Out of everything I have seen in my travels from Gondor to Eriador, this one has been printed on my mind the most. Finally, I have found somewhere I can recover. The very air of this place breathes healing back into me. My mind is clearer now than ever before.
