After Thingol's slaughter and Melian's departure, her father sent her away foreseeing the inevitable fall of Doriath. Her father chose to remain behind and was slain in battle by the Dwarves of Nogrod, which she forever curses the dwarves over. In later years, Talaith followed Oropher across the Blue Mountains and eventually settled in Greenwood the Great. She fell in love with one of the Silvan elves, but they were never wed. He perished at the Battle of Dagorlad alongside Oropher and many of their kinsmen.  

Over countless centuries of patrolling the forests of Mirkwood, Talaith has honed and perfected her skills with the bow. She has never gained the title of captain despite her vast amount of experience. She lacks the desire to be a leader, unwilling to take on the responsibility. In recent years, she serves her king as a messenger and has began venturing further away from the land she calls home.

Talaith walks a road where she rarely sees herself at fault or to blame for whatever negative consequence that may befall her in life. Sometimes she is blind to her actions and the harm her words may cause others. When she does have moments of clarity, it is usually too late for her to rectify the situation or she may not even try to due to her fierce pride. This has proven to be detrimental to her love life. Talaith lacks trust in others; she is constantly shadowed by old prejudices that can never be completely shaken off. More than anything she desires love, but it constantly fades or eludes her.
