Garethred

Garethred Nareloth, "Angmar's Bane"

Name Garethred
Status
Dormant
Occupation
"There is not enough words to explain all the efforts I do. -Saving your pathetic lives- will have to suffice."
Age
This dauntless warrior managed to achieve a glorious status in only 30 inconceivably hard years.
Race
Man
Residence
'Edeb en Aglar' - House of Glory - A luxurious manor overlooking Sarngarth, Falathlorn.
Kinship
"I would only ever fight either by the side of the Lossoth or by the side of Muiliel. Besides, good luck staying incognito when you have a swarm of fawning lowlives hailing you at every road."
Outward Appearance

For his unbelievably complex experience he is young, freshly reaching his thirties. Despite his paler skin he is gallantly handsome, his bright blue eyes are sharper than any sword in Ëa, his warm smile would illuminate the shadiest corner of Utumno and his outstanding voice is capable of catching a Balrog's perpetual attention. His rather thin but muscled body moves so quick even an eagle would have to narrow his eyes and is as tough as five uruks armoured to the feet.

He is taller than his Rohirric ex-brethren, a height of 6,4 feet preventing any daring dwarf from reaching up to his head which holds a noble-looking face - shaved and clean except for the neat short circle beard. His physical condition is a one many elves look upon; other men giving up their pathetically pointless attempts to catch up.

He always wears precisely what he needs to, but most often you can see him wearing an armor as heavy as three Ents tied up together and as solid as The One Ring, carrying a spear the size of a street lamp and his eternally polished swords which have tasted the blood of every creature - from a worthless little bee to an angry and fearsome dragon lord.

Background

(Music: "Unstoppable" by E.S. Posthumus)

Known names :

Garethred ("Ga-re-thred")  – his Rohirric birth name. ((He NEVER presents himself as Garethred while wearing his mask!))

Nareloth ("Na-re-loth / Nar-loth") – ‘A fiery blossom’ – the name he has given to himself upon finding his potential.

Nimohtar ("Nim-o-htar")  – ‘Paladin’ – a monicker given to him by the Eldar after proving his goodwill throughout Eriador.

Teuvel ("Tou-væl")  ‘Dark Blade’ – he has named himself such after being banished from Lórien and retreating to the east.

Angmar’s Bane” – (translated into Westernesse dialect) A title given to him out of euphoria of the Lossoth, who have hailed him as such after his glorious arrival from the Battle of Jä-rannit. (see The Taste of Battle)

"Who I really am I ought not to say. It is something you shall find out should you be given the honour of accompanying me."

 Nareloth

Garethred – the unmatched rider of Rohan, wise guest of Lothlórien and a noble lord of Gondor – claims to have slain twice as much goblins as king Balin of Moria, three dozens more dragons than Thorin Oakenshield, more Angmarim than the Gondorian Prince Eärnur and more uruks than the entire cavalry of Rohan put together. Furthermore he claims to be more powerful than all men of Arda, wealthier than any elven Tur who ever lived and even more cunning than the Dark Lord himself.

“He is arrogant, bigheaded, brainless and insane as no man or elf I have ever seen. But he is by far the greatest warrior I have met in my life and a caring lover any woman would kill for. I am lucky to be his and he is lucky to be mine. I have given him my heart and I will never regret it.”

– Muiliel Lor, the Dark Lady

“Lad. Ya never heard of Nareloth? He’s a bloody mighty swordsman who could have y’er head hung up his wall before ya’d say out y’er own name.”

– Yiannic Hummerhand

“The way he acts, talks, moves and fights makes him hardly recognizable from a Noldo, yet he is born as Adan. Truly amazing.”

– Maegron of Rivendell

Friends
Relatives
Betrothed to Muiliel
Rivals/Enemies
Enemies: Servants of the Witch-King in general - including the Heirs of Ruin. Unworthy troublecausers he does not waste his time with unless he has no other option.
Loves
Muiliel, enforcing justice, travelling, courting, massive battles as well as duels, his swords and the sight of a pile of Angmarim bodies burning beneath the night sky.
Hates
Apart from ignorants, troublecausers, drunkards, unmotivated murderers, men who act like they are bigger than him, arrogant dwarves and people who meddle in too many affairs, he barely hates anything.
Motivation
"My goals are far too numerous to mention, but I am not destined to fall until all have been fulfilled."
Quotes
"The Rohirrim are a vague lot, in the long run they are all dead." - "Nobody with a brighter mind has the physical power to bring me down, and nobody stronger than me has a will tough enough to withstand my ferocity. No wonder I feel so valorous."
