Kirseth was raised in the great white city of Minas Tirith. She spent her days helping her mother around the house with daily tasks such as cleaning and preparing food for their evening meals. Her evenings were spent listening to tales from her father upon his return from exploring the borders during his scouting missions, or getting lost in the library vaults; reading tales of old, keen to learn of the world outside the city walls.

All she ever wanted was to follow in her father’s footsteps, to become an esteemed scout; sworn to protect her home and keep her mother safe. Early on in her career, her time was mostly spent hunting game and learning how to hone her craft as a skilled hunter and scout.

It was on one of these game hunts when she stumbled upon unfamiliar tracks. Following the strange tracks, she came across an orc scout who appeared to be observing the incomings and outgoings of the city’s gates. Moving undetected, Kirseth managed to retrieve a scroll from the orc as he slept. The scroll was filled with observations the creature had made. Alarmed, she took the papers to her commander as soon as she could. The commander took this information to the leader of the city guard. After some discussion, the two leaders had strategized a plan to scout for more information. The pair had enlisted Kirseth and Kerandrim, a member of the tower guard, along with a small charge of soldiers. Their mission was to infiltrate the nearby orc camp and retrieve more information on what they believed could be an attack on the city.

Kirseth was both elated and nervous to be sent on a mission with Kerandrim. For a while before this, the pair had been talking closely and a bond had formed between them. This was to be her first real assigned mission from her commander. The party set out at dawn, reaching the encampment in a few days march.

One night, Kirseth and Kerandrim left the safety of the camp to talk privately. This would be a grave mistake, for the pair as they soon found themselves bound, blindfolded and dragged across lands unknown.

It was weeks before the pair were able to break free from their bonds to escape their captors. Unsure of where they were or where to go, Kirseth and Kerandrim kept running, through marshland and barren plains until they finally stumbled across a village the local folk named “Combe”. It was here they were offered a safe place to finally rest. Before long, Kirseth found herself offering assistance to Kerandrim. He wished to retrieve an item that was lost in the marshlands during their hurried travels only a few days prior.

Before long, the pair were left wounded during an ambush by a party of spiders. Luckily, their plight was heard from afar by a local patrol of villagers from Hookworth. Kirseth and Kerandrim were helped back to their village and allowed a room in their guesthouse to heal up and rest before their journey continued.
