Background
Biography
Kerandrim is of Gondorian descent, from the city of Minas Tirith; a member of the Tower Guard.
He is well respected by his peers, and is easy-going unless the need arises for sternness. A loyal soldier, Kerandrim knows the importance of a promise and believes in always doing his best to help those in need.
Kerandrim has seen a fair amount of battle, but nothing more than small-scale skirmishes around the borders of Gondor and beyond. He has an eye for tactics and is well trained in various weaponry, such as bows, daggers and longswords. His preferred weapon is a greatsword; wielded in both hands - but he always carries a small dagger by his side, for use as both a tool and an emergency weapon.
Both on and off the battlefield, Kerandrim is capable of inspiring those around him and instilling them with hope.
Kerandrim is of average intelligence, but prides himself of respecting and learning of other cultures - often trying to adhere to the appropriate formalities when addressing those of various races. Due to intense teachings growing up, Kerandrim is fairly familiar with Gondorian lore - though not as much as he ought to be.
Due to a recently discovered interest in books, Kerandrim has taken up writing in his journal whenever possible - often accompanied with sketches and crude paintings.
Past
Kerandrim grew up in a wealthy, noble family. He received both military training and education in woodcraft, smithing, history and trade. He soon became bored of this life, however; never really knowing what he wanted to do with himself. Haunted by what seemed to be dark, prophetic, dreams filled with riddles - Kerandrim left home to leave the walled city and discover himself.
It wasn't long after returning home from this journey that he enlisted as a member of the Tower Guard, having found a purpose - to push back the shadow and protect the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.
Most of his young adult years were spent in barracks and storehouses, as well as patrolling the borders. Kerandrim slowly climbed to the rank of Captain of the Tower Guard.
One fateful day, Kerandrim was assigned to lead a small charge of soldiers on a scouting mission along with his companion, Kirseth. This was their first real mission together.
There had been some sort of meeting between the leaders of the Tower Guard and the Scouts. Based on some worrying information, discovered by Kirseth, the two leaders had come up with a plan to scout the location of a possible orc encampment.
However, what seemed like a very simple mission to scout for information regarding a possible attack on the city went very wrong.
One night, Kirseth and Kerandrim left the safety of their camp to talk in private. It seemed however, that their party had been watched for some time. Before the duo had a chance to alert their companions, they found themselves gagged, bound and dragged across Middle Earth.
Many weeks passed as captives, until finally Kerandrim was able to loosen his bonds, and those of his companion. Unarmed and confused, they ran as fast as they could while their captors slept. They traveled far and wide, until eventually stumbling upon the village of Combe.
Along the journey to Combe, Kerandrim had lost a family heirloom of great importance.
Kerandrim (joined by Kirseth, despite his objections), set out once more to the marshlands in an attempt to recover the lost item. Unfortunately, the pair found themselves ambushed by a party of spiders. After a short battle, Kirseth and Kerandrim were left wounded.
But it seemed that luck was upon them, as a local patrol from Hookworth happened to hear their battle cries and braved the marshes to give aid.
Although they escaped from their tribulations more or less unharmed, they have wandered very far from home with no belongings aside from the clothes on their back - and a long journey home.
Present
Kerandrim and Kirseth now reside in the village of Hookworth, as Squires of the Knights Of Eriador
In order to recover his strength and to gain funds for the long journey home - Kerandrim has been aiding the Bree Hunter's Lodge in their expeditions and has just returned from a journey to the Lone Lands.
He has yet to find his lost heirloom.
