Background
Holtbeorn Alfwine (The forest warrior who is a friend of the elves, in Rohirric) was the child of a Sheildmaiden of Rohan, and a Dunedain Ranger. He was knighted at sixteen summers, and set out to join the Rangers on his seventeenth. Most people simply call him Holt.
Holt has learned to be quite a simple man. He sleeps beneath the stars, gathers his food from the forest and drinks from fresh springs as he happens upon them. He is Ranger, younger than most and still quite a novice. But like most in this war he has been thrown into the deeper water and is doing his best to swim. When one meets him chances are they will not get very close to him, but should circumstance make them a close friend Holt's loyalty will be absolute. He has a fondness for music, particularly the harp or bagpipes, and is close to the elves. He does not mind the solitude - the wilderness gives him freedom. He is a wanderer, and he likes it that way.
