Till ”Dimmie” Brown-Noakes

Till ”Dimmie” Brown-Noakes is what he is called, but his birth-name was simply Till Brown Noakes, but he took the “Brown” and “Noakes” together, making it “Brown-Noakes”. His friends do also have a habit of just calling him “Dimmie”, so that is the reason he almost always presents himself as “Till Brown-Noakes, but all my friends calls me Dimmie, at your service!”.

He was born the 6th of April in the year if 3003, 2 years after Bilbo's Party. He was at his aunt, Jaspera Noakes in Bywater, when Gandalf came to Hobbiton the 16^th of April, 3019. His father was Postman Smallburrow's assistant (Postman Smallburrow is the postmayor in Stock), his father was therefore Postman's Assistant Brown (the name “Brown” comes from his father, “Noakes” is from his mother. Aunt Jaspera is on his mother's side, not his father's). His father was born in Stock, but he became a postman as he did not succeed in becoming a Bounder. Then he had to choose the second best, a postman, as they did travel, and there were some Brandybuck in the family Brown. Dimmie's mother was the tailor (of hats) in Bywater, until she moved to Stock, where she, with his father, raised him.

At the age of thirteen, he moved out, as his parents died, and he ended up in Buckland as the apprentice of the local cook. It did not take long before he became bored of standing and cooking the same meals for the same hobbits every day, and not too soon he left. He did, however, get a basic understanding of cooking, and he is actually rather good at it, though not an expert. So, soon he got the lust for adventure, not more than a half year later than he had started, and he went out towards East along the road. He ended up in Bree, where he was able to acquire a lute, and then, his living became the way of playing.
