Beneath The Surface

Dark clouds drifted across the sky above the village, obscuring the stars. A distant bell tolled the midnight message for the slumbering Shire. Fresh drizzle  was falling over the fields, and woodland as a cold Autumn wind blew. Beneath what was once known as Shire Rose's Hall, candles burned bright in their stands. The secret cavern hole reachable only by using a hidden passage in the in the Delving Fields, on the north side of the village of Bramblebury.

Between then, yule of Shire Rose and Morgayn had spent the evening talking about the recent events and making plans by the stone fireplace.  They had laughed and shared  many memories for nearly two hours, finally coming to discuss the real reason why they were both there. Yule's plan had worked !

" You have done well, sister Yule," Morgayn said , " Those who seek to harm you  and find the Shire Rose Pendant are confused and bewildered after you disbanded the kin." Yule nodded at those words ans she slumped back into her sit in front of the roaring fire. " It was for the best, I followed the orders given to me. We are safe ...for now, but it will not last."  Morgayn looked at the little white kitten sleeping on her laps and smiles. " We must make it last as long as we can, Yule. And we must keep Amorey and her unborn child safe. "  Yule's face changed expression as her heart filled with worries, for  she knew of how dangerous childbirth can be, her own mother had died by giving birth to her. Morgayn sensed her friend tension, her words sounded calm and reassuring " I can feel your concern, Yule, this is why I shall not leave  the Shire until the time is ripe. I shall be with you and Amorey when her  time comes."

Yule smiled softly at Morgayn , " Thank you kindly for been here sister Morgayn, it feels my heart with joy." Morgayn smiled back , " Your heart is not an easy place to reach, sister Yule. I often wonder if anyone ever will see really what you keep hidden inside there." Yule laughed quietly and a bit of colour returned on her cheeks, as her mind went wandering at Morgayn's words. " To find someone marvellously kind, shining like a star in the night, " Yule  chuckled at her own words, " Better confine all this to my dreams, sister Morgayn, for love is like sweet morning dew dripping on beautiful flowers but also on stinging nettles."  Morgayn smiled caressing the  white kitten gently  as a peaceful silence came between the two sisters broken only by the warm crackling of the fire burning and the distant tapping of the rain.
