Log 5: Entry 8

Patient: Man, male, adult
Symptoms: A burn, infection
Treatment: Cleaning the wound, salve, rest
Meeting: Shall remain in my care for the next couple of days

Mister Aeruthuil returned and asked me to examine his burn. An unusual burn, one that has been allowed to fester and grow in the past few months. He is without fever and seemingly healthy, the infection is not a threat yet.
The wound has been drained and cleaned and it shall continue to be treated that way for the next few days, until all traces of it are gone. He has accepted to stay within the infirmary until the treatment is finished. In exchange for the bed, supplies and food, he has agreed to gather lumber for me to store for winter.

I've been given a personal invitation from miss Plumwood, regarding the Harvestmath gathering. I didn't expect it. I've found my old formal attire, it still fits well enough and shall have to do. I'm not certain whether this is something fitting for the celebration, as I'm unaware of what the traditional attire is for such a festival.
I spoke with mister Leoffrith when he came by, he seemed as clueless as me regarding the matter of a wardrobe. We talked for a short while and I've come to learn that he is an honest man. Came to find me so that he could give me the coin owed, since I did not attend the examination of the horse.
By what he told me, I understand that it's common practice to bring a partner, or a 'date', to these gatherings. That he himself has avoided such in the past was due to lack of women he could ask to accompany him.
Taking this into thought, I asked Ruevir if she had interest of joining me. She did not, she did not like the idea of joining into such a large crowd. Now I debate whether I should attend by myself or find someone else that might be willing to come with me.

It might be favourable for me to do the latter.

I've offered to teach Ruevir how to dance, it may open her up to the idea to join festivities like this in the future. Her social skills are improving quickly and after recent troubles, I've decided to try and make the evening more comfortable for her.
It's hard for me to decide what would bring her joy, as she refuses to speak much on the matter. It has been easier with others. She did, give me an idea of something that might work and I'll have to visit the butcher in the morning, to see if he has any of the meat I'll need in store. I will also have to find a cook in town, one willing to quickly teach me how to prepare it, so that the meal won't be ruined.

    * Visit the butcher; pheasant.
    * Visit the general store, spices.
    * Visit the Mess Hall, speak with the cook.
    * Find someone for the Harvestmath gathering.
