A Family Broken

A Family Broken

A bird is startled from it's branch
The fountain's harmony is broken
The petals of the flowers blanch
At words in anger spoken

Pausing at the edge of light
Time is standing still
Night is coming like a blight
My heart can feel it's chill

A voice is raised the air is riven
Leaves are trembling at the rage
My mother's voice in vain has striven
My brother's temper to assuage

Moving closer, catch a view
A figure in an angry stance
Now fists are clenched, loud voice anew
A passionate, bitter dance

The voice is heard once more, now shouting
Mother father bent and battered
Brother leaving storming pouting
My family is shattered

The silence left oppresses me
The bird returns but sings no more
The fountain bubbles aimlessly
The flowers gazing at the floor

My mother father leave this land
They travel to the West
My brother gone his flight unplanned
My heart has left my chest

My path is now to find my brother
Though the West is calling me
This task will fall unto no other
'Til he is found I'll not be free
