10th Annual Grand Elven Ball Menu



This year we have specialities from many Elven areas; Lindon, Lothlórien and of course only the best local treats from Imladris. The food is cooked by Telpenaro of Nargothrond, a passionate farmer and a chef.

Guests will find a selection of food on the tables, free for them to take. The cake will be revealed when it's time for it to be cut.

Welcome Cup

Miruvor that was recently brought from Lórien is being served, and it is the favourite of Lady Galadriel. It is made of the blossoms of Niphredil and Elanor.

Appetizers

Bread: Slightly sweet oval, soft loaves after the recipe of the Galadhrim. Thin and round, lightly salted buckwheat crackers.

Soup: Cream of wild chanterelle soup with cream cheese, white wine, scallion, celery, parsley and thyme. A recipe from Eryn Galen, favoured by King Thranduil's court.

Gourd Roses: Petal like thin slices of yellow gourd rolled with dough sheets on the bottom and cooked in the oven.

Seaweed Fish Rolls: Salted and thinly cut fresh salmon, rolled into dried sheets of edible Lindon seaweed with oats, salmon caviar, cucumber and seasonings. A recipe originally from Tol Eressëa.

Oysters of Lindon: Oysters imported from the divers of Lindon, brought alive to Rivendell with a great care. Fresh, slightly sour creamy sauce with dill to garnish them with if desired.

Cheese Table: Creamy white Rivenbert can be found, as well as the stronger Gondofort with blue veins and the reddish Lindonster.

Sausage Surprise: Different cuts of meat prepared into flavourful sausages according to the recipe of Lord Daegond.

Main Course

Vegetable Pie: Penny button mushrooms, carrots, yellow onion and chervil.

Grilled Venison: With cherry sage butter.

Fried Pike Perch: With basil and lemon wedges.

Side Dishes

Salad: With lettuce, chives, pear and roasted pumpkin seeds.

Gratin: With parsnips, artichokes, red onion and pepper.

Crispy bacon.

Desserts

Fresh Fruits: Many varieties.

Raspberry and melon soup: Chilled and sweet.

Soft cookies: With dried blackcurrants.

Aidhalassë

Name: Aidhalassë (Nest of Joy)

The giant cake for the 10th Annual Grand Elven Ball is filled with the jam of apple, cinnamon and Mallorn honey and the rich creme of vánillë. It also has a soft meringue icing and it's topped with the symbols of Vanimar. It is shaped like a braided nest on which a meringue swan sculpture has been posed. The bird is looking at another cookie, shaped like the Tengwar number ten.
