Diary of Katnya: A turn for the better

Diary,

I spent one night out in that hut. Just one thank Orome. I booked out of the room early, so I would have money for food to last me a week or so, and moved my stuff to the hut. I was lucky it didn't rain, I'm unsure how well I made the roof. The next day, I was looking round Bree, trying to find Skelcar or Taala, who I was told would be able to recruit me to the Bloody Dawn. I met Rin. She's a great friend, having been in a similar position when she first moved to Bree she understands the difficulties. She told me I could stick with her till she found Skelcar, and I could discuss employment with him.

We sat out on a hill behind a quaint little cottage overlooking a lake and ate apples and stargazed as we spoke. It reminded me of home. Stargazing out in the long grass for hours on end. We talked about how she met Skelcar, he seems so sweet to her, yet so hard to everyone else. Her story of meeting him reminds me a lot of... no I don't think about it, I need to forget it. It was sweet. We then went to wait outside Skelcar's house till he let us in.

The interview was short and to the point. He wanted to know how well I could use my axe and what experience I had. After that he handed me the bronze sigil. Rin played with a little bird in the office while we talked. He had a stag's head mounted on the wall. The way these people humiliate animals so is horrific. He had been such a noble, proud being in life. To be treated in such a way in death is cruel.

So I have started to help on the search for the Stone Quarters Bandits, I hope to prove my worth as soon as I can.
