Background
Throughout the more interesting period of his life, Skelcar deliberately has kept many of his activities secret or little known. His following history would be known only to those who personally know him well, have researched the man, or have managed to steal and decipher his coded 'red book'.
The 'Late Bree Years' section consists of real in-game events.
Childhood
Skelcar Ulrius Gwiberskarn II was born in the western plains of the Brown Lands, not far from the great river Anduin, whilst his family and their entourage passed through the region. He was born on the second Norui to the family patriarch Irad Gwiberskarn III and Gwynara of Methedras, but was sickly at birth and a medic claimed he would die within the week.
He grew up at the family's eventual destination- a small manor hidden within the gorges of Rohan's East Wall. Skelcar was raised by his mother Gwynara in the company of his older sister Jazilin and cousin Tristus, but his father Irad was rarely present. His uncle Ulrius, who was also Irad's identical twin, acted as a sort of father figure for several years, teaching him literacy and mathematics. Although his first language may have been Rohirric, it is clear that he practiced Rohirric and Westron for most of his life.
In his childhood, Skelcar and his sister were both antisocial, and Skelcar was more comfortable left with his own devices. He frequented Amon Hen and enjoyed the view of the majestic expanse which oddly still granted him a feeling of solitude. Skelcar spent most of his free time reading, but also liked to draw forest scenes and attempted writing poetry. He has never admitted to either of these things.
At the age of twelve, Ulrius Gwiberskarn and his son Tristus left the East Wall and travelled south to Harad. It was at this age that Skelcar became reliant on books to learn history, geography, the Rhunnic language and swordsmanship.
Rohan Years
Growing an interest in swordplay, Skelcar persistently asked for combat tuition in the Eastemnet. He applied for tutoring with sergeants-at-arms in Harwick, Floodwend, Faldham, Garsfeld and Eaworth, but he was allegedly refused by each master on account of him not being a Rohir and showing very little potential.
Eventually, Skelcar was offered tuition from an old rohir-dunlending, but the conditions were not ideal. He could only train is spears and shields, and lived far away at the exact furtherst away reach of Rohan- Marton, in the Westfold. He travelled here with his tutor at the age of fourteen, and lived in Marton for three years. He bonded fairly closely with the tutor despite his grumpy nature and impolite language, as well as with several residents of the town nearer to his age.
Gondor Year
At the age of seventeen, Skelcar bid his tutor farewell, as he wished to explore the world. Over the course of one year he travelled around Gondor, spending most of his time in the east, especially Osgiliath where his second cousin, Arledon of Anfalas worked as a banker. When he arrived in Linhir, Skelcar recieved the final letter he would ever receive from his father, Irad. He rushed through western Gondor and Enedwaith in order to meet his father on his deathbed.
Early Bree Years
Skelcar arrived in Bree too late, although the funeral was postponed by two days to await him. He lived with uncle Ulrius, sister Jazilin, cousin Tristus and two other distant cousins somewhere south of Bree for one year, in which time he became close friends with Lucren Hawthorn, of the house which once dominated Bree's economy. Skelcar was informed of his mother's whereabouts by his uncle, and they exchanged letters throughout this period of Skelcar's life. Extraordinary circumstance led to Skelcar impaling and killing Tristus, who had aligned with the wrong people, in order to save the lives of friend Lucren and ungrateful Jazilin.
Despite his efforts to help his uncle reassemble the glory that Irad had built for the family, Jazilin and a cosuin were slain by Bree's Watch. Ulrius, fearing for his life and frustrated with his circumstance, fled south with his henchmen, thus leaving Skelcar in Bree with what worldly possessions Ulrius could not carry, including their residence.
Later Bree Years
Skelcar briefly joined a mysterious yet disorganised group at the age of nineteen, where he became friends with Rohdain Mayweather. Skelcar disliked this organisation due to its activities, lack of leadership or objective and lack of real, hard money. Although it had honed his skills as a spymaster, he eventually left and sat silently for several months.
The captain of the Bloody Dawn, a man named Newell, eventually agreed occupational terms with Skelcar, and he was made their spymaster, although the mercenary guild lacked any dedicated spies. He claims to have assisted greatly in reviving the old guild, as he recruited several members. Here in the Dawn, Skelcar quickly befriended Ted "Brammy" Bramble, Taala and Eroforth.
Although he remained close with the afore-mentioned trio, he soon also became close with Seaver, Kestrall and eventually, the new captain Basaran. Within this period Rohdain appeared in the Dawn, and Skelcar still met with Lucren from time to time. He also worked towards constructing a vast, personal spy network across Eriador, though in its completed form Skelcar's inheritance could not fund dedicated spies, and instead only gathered contacts across nearly every region. This complex structure was primarily used to assist the Bloody Dawn by locating targets, goals or aiding its defence.
More recently, Skelcar suddenly and briefly grew close with a Dawner named Harswith. Although Skelcar claims to have never had any real feelings in the relationship, Harswith had become pregnant with apparently Skelcar's child. Skelcar joined a company of Dawners on a trip to Evendim where with the aid of his contacts within local gangs, such as the recently esteemed captain Eliot Bencroft, they broke up gang warfare and prevented the forceful takeover of Ost Forod. Around this time, he got know Skalforn, known as Blackspear well. He also befriended Dristin, affectionately named Gondor by Dawn members, although Skelcar tired of him on several occasions.
Now reaching twenty-one years old, Skelcar broke up with Harswith. He still attended her birth of the child Ella, but despite remembrances to him Skelcar out-right refuses that she is his daughter, especially since he discovered Harswith had been cheating on him with at least one other man. Around this time, Skelcar lost contact with his mother, but never speaks of the matter.
Very recently, Skelcar met yet another bastard child of master-at-arms Blince Kolten, but this occasion turned out to be very different from any past meetings he had with the Kolten brood. Tasked with locating and punishing the assaults of Morrinth Kolten, she herself aided in the investigation and they smoothly grew close. They began courting, and suffered few disagreements, as both were happily content for the time. Although her father Blince stood in her way, Morrinth moved in with Skelcar. The couple enjoyed mutual friendship with Skalforn and Seaver.
Another investigation appeared when a group of bandits appeared in Bree, assaulting and robbing locals. When two of these bandits attempted to rob Skelcar and Morrinth, and Skelcar very nearly was slain, the investigation became personal. He morphed into a bold soldier as if there since some martial law was imposed, for he patrolled the streets and alleys of Bree with a small force very often. It was around this time that Skelcar had the displeasure of meeting Nomads Miraculous, a "circus of fools amongst fools" which Skelcar considered an "affront to common decency and culture" after they constantly stood in the way of his enquiries. Their leader, Cirywen, was amongst the only people Skelcar has ever admitted to him out-witted him. He considered their conversations insulting.
When his best friend Seaver departed Bree after a shady brake up with his partner, no other than the theatrical ring-leader Cirywen, Skelcar did not expect to see him ever again, at least not for a long time. When Seaver returned, pursuing murderers who had taken Cirywen's life, Skelcar welcomed Seaver to stay at his home and has assisted him in seeking vengeance ever since, despite his dislike of Cirywen during her life.
