Loss of a Home -Part 1-

A few days past and Zoeya could not return to her island that she called home.  A few bandits, at least she thinks they're bandits, turned against the tree climbing wild girl and targeted her for whatever reason.  She sat on the shoreline, sharpening her sword as she formed a plan in her mind.  Almost a week ago Zoeya had talked to Aeonid about her problems, he telling her he'd clear her island for her.  However, since the time passed, Zoeya grew impatient and devised her own plan to rid her island of the men who infested it.  So, she slid her sword into its sheath, tightened her bag shut to ensure nothing slipped out, and dove into the water.  When she neared the island in the darkness of night, she dipped low in the water to cover herself before emerging on hands and knees to crawl towards a bush.

She waited until the sun began to break and all of the trespassers were for sure asleep.  She then moved to scale up a nearby tree and drew out a wad of papers and the flint.  It had taken her awhile to get over her fear of fire, but Zoeya learned that if she had control of the fire or water nearby, there was no need to fear it.  And so, she lit the paper on fire and threw it to the bush she had been hiding in before.  The men on the island took several moments before they could smell the smoke, quickly leaping and gathering supplies to put the fire out.  Zoeya leapt from a tree that moment, slashing her sword into the head of the closest man as he fell, the others spinning to face her.

"You want my home?  You have to get through me first."  She snarled out to them.

The men began to laugh, coming towards the woman as they drew their swords, axes, and bats.  Zoeya didn't go down without a fight, that's for sure.  She took out another man before she felt an axe slice into her side.  She sliced across the man with the axe, cutting open his stomach when she felt a blunt blow to her head.  Stumbling back, Zoeya aimed to leap into the water, when she felt her foot be crushed by the bat.  Although she did manage to escape, falling into the water in the early moments of morning since the fight did not last long.  She swam the best she could, though struggled to keep buoyant.  It took her awhile to finally drift to sure, coughing up water as she the world faded to black.

Across the course of the day, Zoeya would wake up briefly to hear ringing sound and smell blood.  She could faintly hear the cheers of the men from her island, probably assuming her dead.  And somehow in the day, she managed to crawl into the closes bush and pass out again.  Her body was sticky and her head felt numb.  Although she doubted anyone would be able to find her anytime soon, she knew she wouldn't give up trying to go back to her island and defeat the man.

How?  She had no clue.

((Most of the wounds and survival was determined by rolls.  Luckily rolls said she would live, but also that she'd be hurt and she wouldn't defeat her enemies... Which kinda sucks))
