Moria... Day 2?

Day 2, I think? Moria…

After my rest, I replied to Desta’s letter. I just had to tell her about my Detour, annnnnd I wanted to know if she knew Magpie. She’s in the Pony a lot...I’d think she should’ve seen him at least. She does sit on that barrel right by the bar.. and the Bar is his favorite spot hahaha! Well… I guess I’ll find out hopefully by the next campsite I’ll have another letter  from her! Hopefully.  If anything we can give ratings! Haha, oh man that’s fun. I don’t have many birdy friends… but once in a while you find one that doesn’t try to peck your head! Like her and Kyne! They are so great!

Speaking of Kyne! Guess who I ran into while I was here! Kyne! She was helping the locals though.. I told her I couldn’t stay, if I took too long getting to the otherside, I’ll fail… and my friend will come in looking for me. You know… thinking about it… we never discussed what I got for being successful… I guess I’ll find out when I’m at the other side! It was nice to see her, I’m happy I hearing from my friends, and seeing them too! I thought I was going to be lonely in this Journey!

As I headed out.. I noticed one of the shard balls had fallen and shattered… so I was looking at the rubble… and something caught my eye. I picked a tiny shiny blue shard, it kind of resembled a gemstone. I thought who would enjoy it the most! So I turned back to the camp real fast and sent it off. I didn’t write who it was from, I wanted him to guess! Ha! I wonder if he’ll even figure it out. I did leave a little hint. I can’t remember if I told him where I was going… Man my memory sometimes! Never works properly when I need it to!

I started out again… taking a moment to check out a waterfall, you know… thinking about it… where is this water coming from?! I’d be worried about it filling the mines up… I suppose it goes somewhere… but it doesn’t seem like it. Maybe there’s like… an exit hole down there or something… HA! Maybe Moria is just a giant tub! After taking in the sights.. I spurred Butters on and went, I just sorta followed the structure to the next door.. figured it had to lead somewhere… You know… I should’ve cheated and asked one of those dwarves for directions… But I suppose I wouldn’t learn anything If I did that… but … my map has a huge ass hole in it.. from butters! oh well… I’ll just make due..

Following the walkways and paths, we came across a cavern… and my gut reaction was to turn around and go another way.. But I knew that going back through the water would get me no where… And I didn’t want to get sucked down into the drain in there.. If there is one.. I mean that’s a scary thought! There was… steam EVERYWHERE behind me, in front of me, to the side of me.. It was just very… creepy feeling there.. As I ventured forward I saw goblins...and realised my fears of this being a bad place were true.

As I was crossing the bridge… one orc knocked me off of butters… Thankfully It was just one of them, I got up.. and quickly pursued him realising that we were on a bridge! so I fought him to the edge of it quickly and just simply made him lose his balance. I really don’t like putting my blades through flesh… It’s just not my preference.. Thankfully Butters didn’t run far from me, he’s turning out to be just a grand trooper! I hopped by on Butters and continued on.

A steam vent had a big burst, and I lost my vision briefly… however that was long enough for everything and it’s mother to start chasing me! I had orcs.. Wingless drakes you name it! well… actually it was just orcs and wingless drakes… but still!! I spurred Butters to go faster not  really wanting to fight.. Losing my shoes is the last thing on my list of things to do! I started to get worried with everything chasing us. Shortly we ran into a new cavern trying to lose our tail!

We lost the wingless drakes and orcs in the next cavern.. Maybe they were afraid of the creepy crawlys here. They didn’t seem too bad.. It seemed if me and Butters mined our own business.. the crawlies just minded there own… but they were gross.. and smelled bad. At this point I was getting really tired... I wanted to find a place to rest, and eat a bit. I know Butters had to be tired!

As we went onward, we came across a small camp of dwarves. They even had a lone Ram there for Butters to socialize with! Surprisingly the dwarves were kind. They seemed quite amused when I told them about my venture.. saying I must have missed a turn, but I could get out the way I was going. They let me rest, and I gave them a bit of coin for the care of Butters while I napped and use of their bed, and some food they had cooking. They were awfully generous for dwarves I think… I guess they don’t get many visitors..
