I waited in the shire, to see if Sunn would accompany me on my journey North, I wrote a few letters to a few friends my farewells... After waiting a good while I left, I couldn't wait any longer. I had already prolonged my travel North for too long. I was already in my snow clothes, when I left the shire...much to early...by the time I got to Bree I was sweating up a storm. I let my steed drink from the fountain for the ride to Rivendell, like my Directions from Flicka said.I met a nice man by the fountain... I think his name was Mudpie or something.. Magpie? I'm not sure.. I have a terrible memory with names!
When I was in Bree I got my letter from Dudon's friend Kynethryt, from Barliman, since I don't have a home I told her to leave it with him. She let me know she had already headed out ahead to scout out the mines. I will be meeting her in a few days time... Hopefully! I also received a silk wrapped bundle...my frist thoughts were WHat! Nobody fancy's me! Hahaha ! But it was a package from Gold with my new blades I had been asking him for, which was great! I'm glad I can toss these Daggers. I hate using the tiny blades with a passion. Gold seems to do everything he does in style! But I still am sad he never put the saber tooth in his house that I gave him.
I set out from Bree, and didn't rest until I reached my destination... but the path to here was scary.... There were these Drakes! and Drakes with no wings!! quite the sight... I snuck by them... But avoiding them I seemed to of lost my path and stumbled into a ravine full of trolls.. I'm pretty sure these were the Trolls you couldn't talk to all night. Like the ones Cirdu told me about.. These had to be the mean ones. Luckily I have a quiet step from Gardening... I was able to sneak back and find the path.
I reaches the camp of "Nice people" as Auntie Flicka described them as. Hardly ever I tell you!! These people had all sorts of problems, and wanted all sorts of help. They wouldn't direct me where to go from there unless I helped them. So I did... and holy cow YOU KNOW THERES TREES THAT WALK AROUND?! I had to chop a few down and let me tell you THAT was a pain!! I'd never seen anything like it in my life. And I was sure I must have smoked some pipeweed I keep on me, for my friend Cirdu,... But I didn't remember smoking any!!
I also had to help them with there wingless Drake problem and Bird problem gosh, man these people should hire professionals not a random visitor from Bree! I felt bad when they asked me to break the wingless drake eggs... because when I would do it, I'd be able to sneak away quick enough but the momma drake would come out of the cave... to find her egg smashed... I don't think I'll ever be doing something like that ever again. It's just wrong! They should just avoid the wingless drakes and let them live there own lives!
When I was here, a fellow needed some help with some of the town's problems, so I helped the man. He was quite scary... He liked to scream at everything! Half the time I was worried he was yelling at me! But we finished the Task, and he was about to leave, and I was going to go on my way, when he tossed me a small pouch. When I looked in the pouch... I was astonished.. So shocked I asked the man if he was sure he had given me the right pouch... He said it was, That, that was just pocket change.. IT WAS 30 GOLD PIECES... 30 GOLD G O L D Pieces!! I had never held that much coin in my life... and this was just chump change for him?! I am curious how much coin he actually has.. I gave the man a hug... I don't think he realized it but I was almost in tears.. Because my first thought was to tell my dearest friend, and brother, Dudon... but I couldn't. I need to continue my efforts and get into the mines and find him!!
