Ever since the farmer and the elf met, their willingness to banter with one another led to a fast friendship. The farmers thick accent made it difficult to pronounce Lamaenon's name, so the farmer took to simply calling the elf "Lemon".
The sense of friendship the elf had towards the farmer was made stronger by the fact Threland had befriended him during a time when he had felt rather alone. The day they had met, Lamaenon had been contemplating seeking healing in Valinor. Threland's simple friendship had been what made the elf change his mind. As the years went on, their friendship only became stronger.
Lamaenon one day realized he behaved as a man, not as an elf. He chose to journey to Imladris to try and fix this. That meant leaving his friend behind. The thought of leaving tore at the elf's heart, it wasn't until the farmer stood
in front of him the Lamaenon had realized the man had become a brother to him. He asked the farmer to join him, Threland agreed.
Outwardly the elf was happy that they would not have to part ways.
Yet. Lamaenon knew that as an elf, he would outlive his oath brother.
Lamaenon secretly dreaded this moment throughout their lives.
As Threland grew old in age, and weaker, Lamaenon made his choice.
So horrid was the thought of parting with his brother, The elf forsook the gift of immortality to embrace the gift of men. He never spoke of this to Threland.
