Aman

Author's Note — A friend is currently developing an RP related to the finding of the weapons by Thorin Oakenshield's party in the Trollshaws. As a result, they've asked for prospective participants to share some information about their intended characters with links to Gondolin (where the weapons would have been crafted). I saw this as an opportunity to share my info using LA, as follows...

They sit by the Sea, for chance has brought both of them here at the Trees’ Mingling, and neither is keen to leave yet.

Saedhruin lies with unshod feet in the surf, head pillowed on a small mound of shining sand, but Eithruin sits upright not far away, gaze directly firmly into the abyss of night beyond the Calacirya.

Aman, Year of the Trees 1495

Silwë loved the stars, and that is how he was named; for that name means Star-light in the language of the Noldor, Quenya. In the days before the Sun and the Moon, the Noldor had been second to follow the path of the Vala Oromë upon the Great Journey from the East, through the darkened Greenwood and over the mountains, and across the great sea to Aman, the Undying Lands. This is where Silwë dwelt, near Tirion-upon-Túna, with the Noldor, his people, under the light of the Two Trees.

Dear diary,

King Finwë was slain, the Two Trees were destroyed and the Silmarils were stolen. Darkness can be felt on every side of Aman. I saw a kinslaying with my own eyes. I, my sisters and my mother and father fought against the kinslayers who desired to steal our ships. My father was slain in front of my eyes. Many of the Ñoldor left Valinor, following Lord Fingolfin and Fëanor. Lord Finarfin would start a march as well, though he returned to Valinor. But I and my sisters and mother went on and caught up with Fingolfin.

V.Y 1495

Dear diary,

The light of Laurelin is shining brightly, and Telperion is resting. I, my family and Calaerneth have returned to Alqualondë from the Gardens of Lórien, yet I sense something bad. While we were resting in the Gardens of Lórien, I saw a dream, a vision. I believe Lord Irmo is trying to give us a warning... 

After Glaurung had left Nargothrond, Telpenaro was curious enough to enter it once again, but the air was stale and a lot of places had soot after the dragon. The sight was sad to him, and yet he was prepared to what he saw. He took some of his family belongings, but he wondered whether he dared to look at his mother's garden. Eventually he did because to his surprise the air was more fresh closer to the area.

Our pleasant stay here in Rivendell draws slowly to a close, in a few days' time we shall be on the road again divested of most enjoyable safety the Vale provides to all who come without ill intent. I think I have grown much accustomed to this fact in past weeks, perhaps too much to my liking. I have also noticed many of us becoming softer, irresistible to all that pampering Imladris offers. On the other hand it is definitely a well-earned rest everyone deserved after all we had been through past seasons.
