"Nareloth, driven with pride and madness, left his manor during a blinding sunrise, taking a secret path along the cliff of Imlad-i-Manadh. None of the residents have seen them leaving. None but one. Carfaron, who was out hunting the wild beasts of Gwathaur, saw his friend while collecting the hide of a fallen bear near the forest's northern border. He joined the hero and followed him until Nareloth grew tired of the hunter's attempts to convince him into giving up.
