Ambush leaves Angry Mob Angrier than Ever!

An unsuspecting ambush by an Orc raid surprises an angry mob from Trestlebridge, culminating in a small skirmish which sees the mob's targets, Two criminals by the name of Carlotta Oakenweed and Caspier Redain, escape into the wilderness!

Carlotta pressed herself against the rock. In the distance, shouting could be heard, as well as some sort of light coming from behind them, evidenced by the bright glow cast on the grass beside the boulder, and the boulder's own lengthening shadow. The shouting grew closer and could now be clearly understood; "Down with the Elf-lover, Down with the Slave-Sorceress!".

"Wake up, you bleedin' lazy scumbag!" There was a roar over the din as the Thorny Rose opened her eyes to find herself chain to a post in an uncomfortable standing postion.
"I said wake UP!" Another roar. Then the sound of flesh striking flesh and Carlotta raised her head, dazed by the grimy, dirty fist that proceeded to punch her in the cheek.

Her vision was becoming blurrier and blurrier. She could feel the blood trickling down her face. Redain's face was there. She could tell. With one last grunt of pain, she blinked. Then, nothing. Redain was gone.

Caspier Redain plodded along, swaying gently with the movement of her chestnut horse. She was tired, fed up and although she couldn't help but admire the vast, empty landscape of Evendim, she hated where she was. She needed people! People meant stock for her cruel business and buyers to sell her wares to. Still, her hope lay in the wilderness for any chance of making any money before the next instalment.
