Secrets

Dear Mama and Papa,

An Anonymous letter lies on her desk at home it reads: 

(The pages in this entry, are stained with tears, but the Lady would trust that none would invade her privacy.) There are stories that we tell, in order to appease others. Then there the tales that we keep deeply hidden within our hearts. I won't begin to tell acquaintances and friends alike the details of my departure from Rohan. Or the troubling words of Raymond when we first parted. I did not love him then therefore I could not say he was my first. What was he to me then?

Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad.

I told a secret to a good old friend
About a golden ring I had just found
Whilst working on my treasured flower bed
I'd dug it up from deeply in the ground

Because the ring was rather valuable
I told him not to tell a single soul
And so I left him standing at the bar
As I returned, unthinking, to my hole

My friend them spoke to Barmy at the Inn
About these many wondrous golden rings
He said they must be worth a fair few coins
But cautioned Barmy not to say a thing

Morwilwarin woke to a curious noise. Quietly, she moved to the nightstand by her bed and lit a lantern. Goosebumps chilled her arms as she moved down through the main room, past a door that she had not opened for years. And she went outside towards what seemed like frantic chirping.

Listed below is part of a collection of documents presumed lost by its author. It details a history of folly which its author sought to destroy himself, but, somehow, these documents survived. This history is kept within the library of Rivendell. It is believed that none know who authored it, though it is known that the House of Elrond Halfelven is very secretive of these documents, and would only let the most trusted scholars and council be privy to what they have to reveal.
