Bancross

Summer shenanigans

Artwork: Painting

It has been a challenging year of broken ankles, mischief and battles at Bancross. Waelden, Ethel and Yllfa have all gone through dark days in recent years. But where evil and misfortune often darken their skies and their hopes, there are also those warm, beautiful days with a bright, blue sky only partly hidden by clouds, a warm, yellow sun and the sweet, caressing wind to remind them that there are still good things in the world.

The fires of farewell

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

There was an ominous aura of melancholy on the streets of Bancross in the days after the battle. The worried faces and itching sword-arms had been quietly replaced by tear-filled eyes, hunched backs and feet dragging on the ground behind them. While our dead could be counted in a handful, the pained and wounded were more plentiful; some with missing limbs, while others got away with only deep cuts and bruises. The east-borne enemy had not fared as well.

Outbound

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story
All around the Bancross the sky dusked and the shadows was getting longer and darker, reflecting my brooding mood. Casting a guilty glance towards the farm of Waelden, Yllfa and Ethel, I return my attention to my task at hand. I'm trying to saddle up a skittish dark brown filly, but it has proven difficult. The filly has sensed my dark mood and it unsettles her, making her skip away, each time I get too close.

The clouds were racing across the sky, like a drawn out white fluffy hunt of horses, riders and hounds, Bronaa thought. She stroked back her hair from her forehead and smoothed it behind her ears, tipping her face up to the thin morning sunlight. The cool wind was about her face as she delighted in taking larger than usual breaths. Ah, it felt good after the storm clouds, the gray and red sky of battle.

Moving On

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

It is time to move on from the battle, for all of Bancross.

It is time for me to set in motion those actions that will see my village regain its grasp on a normal, everyday life.

Sometimes they are buried and linger in the ground for untold ages, and sometimes they are burned and sent away on a cloud of ash.

The Path of Oaths

Despite the scream of the fighting and dying men and beasts, despite the dark suffocating smoke from houses and barns on fire, despite numerous wounds inflicted upon me, the world is silent to me and I feel nothing but sorrow.
