Well, Diary. Today's entry is a little unusual. But then unusual seems to be my usual condition of late.

Exiting the Hall of Fire -- the usual music, dancing, wine, all very much the same, although there was a new elleth and meeting her was very pleasant; Fingolian proposed to return to his home in the Golden Wood, and was given a great deal of well-meaning advice, not least about the pass. If only he had the sheer muscularity of the letter I came home to -- but I get ahead of myself.

In reality I’m sleeping sheltered under a tree in the White mountains, weary in body and mind. And I dream about meeting an esteemed elf with the name Seregrian, praising me for something I have created and rewarded me with a song, ale from strange lands and a table filled with delicious food. Even a wonderful jewel was a part of that reward, which I felt undeserved, but she would have none of it.

Ryheric was surprised to see Catalinna so tolerant about a thieved seat and the compromising position the newcomer had put her into. He and "Greggo" looked on. He found himself enjoying Greggo's company, surprised the boy had a wit and was keen to play along with a few good natured shenanigans. But eventually Catalinna had her way with the bench. The newcomer disappeared to the bar - and returned with drinks only for himself, refusing to sit at the table again for some time. Ryheric felt some pity, and pried when Loakee finally sat again.
