Stories and music – an art to keep ever present the days of past beauty and joy, to keep close at heart those waiting for us in Aman and to celebrate what we have and what is yet to come.
The Library of Tham Angol opens its doors for a Midsummer Night with stories, songs and poems. Bring what you would like to share, be it solemn or joyful, and let us celebrate the passage into summer together.
Please contact me in advance if you would like to share something. All residents and visitors of Rivendell are welcome to join!
We gather as the scent of the lilac mingling with the warm evening air welcomes the first stars in the shortest night of the year.

The library, while in character located in Imlad Gelair in Rivendell, is in game located in 3 Cape Road, Mírband, Belfalas Homesteads. The easiest way to get there: From inside any of the Eriador or Rohan homesteads, visit the Far Ranging Stablemaster, choose “Belfalas Homesteads” and enter the gateway, choosing Mírband and then traveling all the way south. This is a non kin related RP event to get to know other RPers. Of course everyone is welcome, as long as their character has a reason to be in Rivendell.
No specific level of RP experience is needed. You do not need to share anything to attend, but you are very welcome to do so, be it music or text written by yourself or by Tolkien! If you let me know in advance, I can reserve you a spot, but depending on the time, there will be an open stage as well.
Some guidelines:
- Stay in character
- Choose stories and music that fit into the lore
- Keep your performance in a length that doesn’t make you the sole entertainer of the evening
- We love solo performers and a few players gathering for some music, no need to trail a line of multiboxed alts we can't interact with behind you, which only disrupts immersion
- Avoid using forced emotes, setting off fireworks inside, etc. (the usual stuff)
Most important rule: Be there as your character and have a good time!
There will most likely be similar events in autumn, winter and spring from now on, so if you miss this one, just come to the next.
