Tîn Gilith

The sun was setting as they came to the hill overlooking Mithlond. Gilith twisted on her horse to look at her father, who rode a little behind her. His face was drawn with weariness, but there was a new light in his eyes, and a smile on his lips. Gilith slowed her horse, letting her father draw abreast of her. 

On her way to the gates, Gilith would pass the statues of Amroth and Nimrodel every day, and would often stop for a few moments, looking intensly at Nimrodel's face, in many ways so similar to her mother's face. The Silvan Elves disliked outsiders, and when the Sindar and Noldor came to The Golden Woods, many Silvan openly showed their distaste for the newcomers and their foreign ways. 

Growing up when time has no real meaning is rather strange, nevertheless Gilith did age, slowly and steadily, just like a mallorn tree. Joyful times spent with her father when he was off-duty, listening to his tales of Elven mariners sailing across the sea, reading the stars, Elven legends and history; Gilith would listen intensely and learn.
