Manadhlaer's Diary: A Dwarrow in the Memory-house

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

Dear Diary,

I pressed the key to Themodir's house into the wide hand of a very surprised Dwarf fellow named Grunngi. In the course of events, it was decided that we would bring Grunngi back with us from Hrimbarg, for no good could come of the miserable life he was leading there with his perpetually angry cousin. (Some mystery surrounds the cousin, as it does everything lately.)

Rhyme of Bar-en-Vanimar

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry

In Beleriand there stood a Hidden City fair,
of which the shadows were long unaware.
Twelve houses stood tall when their ruin did came,
yet they could not avail against wrath and flame.
Of those houses lost do the minstrels sadly play,
though one remnant rose again for those who stray.

Frolki's Call to Arms

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry

Through light of moon and star be seen,
the shine on metal helm and axes keen.
For sons are armed with mail and shield,
and weapons laden with runes they wield.
Farewell they say to kin and mansions grand,
if the Longbeards march to the Dark Lord's land.

Vagnur's Marching Poem

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry

The sun has already began to climb,
And already have we wasted time.
We keep our pace and march ahead,
To reach our goal so do not fret.

To war or kin we may now go,
With axe in hand we walk in tow.
Our packs may weigh and feet may feel,
Yet dwarves keep strong despite ordeal.

A gravel path or stone paved way,
We must march on without dismay.
Our halls await with open door,
So before the dusk we walk some more.

Verses about the Unbegotten

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry

What even the morning dew does not betray,
are those who passed through in bygone day.
With feet unclothe they walked forth unseen,
in their step leaving blade of grass like it had been.
Of their passing the eldest trees might not talk,
yet ever fond of the time when elves did walk.

Tales and Poetry

Author:
All of the works here have past the hands of Vagnur, either as writer, translator or collector

Combined here are the works of poetry and tales that Vagnur Goldhelm wrote or collected during his long life. While he is not the original author of all, the dwarf made sure that they found a proper place so that they would not be forgotten. Each piece is recorded here with the name of its original author if remembered through the ages, and where they can be found within Middle-Earth.

Another For the Houses, and Other Tales

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

Ah, Diary. I neglect you... but there are so many patients of late, and so little ink. I believe that Norliriel's cat steps in my blasted inkwell out of choice, that it too might leave its mark on the thin parchment we use for reports and requisitions... quite a few marks, forcing me to rewrite a complete monthly report to Lady Danel (who is also away travelling, but Manadhlaer of the Houses files her reports on time, cat or no cat) from scratch. Thus the second of two requisitions put in. I let young Cuillidir fill out the one for alfirin. Ai!
