Background
Foxwin was raised in Archet by his cobbler father, Tom Bramble. He was the youngest of two brothers, but his mother, Edna, died in childbirth. His brother Ted, being eight years older, blamed Fox for her death.
Life growing up was fairly miserable for Fox. He would work hard, learning his father's trade, whilst being subjected to Ted's bullying. They often scuffled, but Fox would always come second best. He developed a good ability over the years to fight dirty and to run and hide. Two years before Archet was attacked, when Fox was 20, his father died. Life became even worse as the family business was handed down entirely to Ted. So Fox became little more than a slave to his brother, gaining little confidence and becoming a scrawny little man.
Fox's life changed forever when the Blackwolds attacked. In one rare and final act of kindness, Ted made sure Fox escaped safely, giving him their father's trusted dagger as protection. To this day he has not found out what happened to his brother that night. He was lucky enough to find work at the Combe Lumber Camp for a while, before he found himself signing up as a Combe Town Watchman. No one would have guessed that Foxwin would rise so quickly up the ranks, becoming Recruitment Officer under the guidance of Kamoba. His friend Brendmor taught him to fight in that time, and he grew in confidence, and in stature.
But due to corruption at the Watch, resulting in Brendmor being dismissed, Foxwin quit, along with a few other fellow Watchmen. He stayed in Combe a while, becoming acquainted with a mysterious Haradrim woman, but he soon grew tired of Combe and set off east on his own to find a new life.
He ended up in Ost Guruth, making and mending shoes for the Eglain. There, he befriended a soldier who picked up where Brendmor left off and taught Fox to fight in a style he termed "Dae-hathol". He fought off a number of Orc assaults on Ost Guruth and quickly became a confident fighter.
Eventually, he returned to Combe to find all his friends had moved on. He decided to rebuild his father's cobbler shop, and further his fighting skills by joining up with The Bloody Dawn. He was happy to find that the Dawn's Captain was none other than Hardoleth, a fellow deserter of the Combe Town Watch.
Fox served the Bloody Dawn for a good while, getting himself unwittingly involved with the Captain's wayward daughter Taala. He gained confidence as a fighter in this time, setting out on a number of training expeditions and contracted missions. However, as they tend to do with Fox, things soon turned sour as he turned to alcoholism, borrowing a huge amount from Blackwold money-lenders. This ended up with his shop burned to ashes and him fighting for his life under the care of Taala. At this time, his brother Ted returned from the dead to haunt him once more. Could he ever forgive him for joining the Blackwolds and disappearing all these years? Could he ever trust Taala to not break his heart?
This was more than Fox could handle. He handed in his resignation to the Bloody Dawn, and bought himself a home in the peaceful town of Towerglan. Former Dawner Neyaa approached him with a business proposition, involving the making of saddles for her shop in Bree. He would set up his workshop at his home and set to work.
