After the Bloody Dawn's mission to Evendim, Fox decided to stay behind and see some of the country. Taala stayed with him and they explored the area around the colossus together. A magnificent structure.
The next morning though Taala had disappeared, something which he had gotten quite used to by then. She had a strong will that one, and if she was going to do something she would do it. Assuming she had started the journey back to Bree, Fox decided to explore some more. He came upon a settlement a bit further north. Ost Forod they called it. Full of ruffians and tomb-robbers it was, though the latter group preferred to call themselves the more honorable "treasure hunters".
Fox did find some peace there for a while though. He worked as a cobbler for a few weeks, not for coin but merely for a place to sleep and a full belly.
Having been involved in a scrap with a man for using the term "tomb-robber", Fox decided it was time to come home. Not only because he felt he had outstayed his welcome, but he found he missed a certain little mischievous smile. He stopped in Bree on the way home and was soon reunited with her, that lovable tearaway, the Dawn's bastard daughter that Fox could not seem to dismiss from his thoughts.
