Failindo was born and raised in Maglor's gap, long before it's destruction during the Dagor Bragollach. His father was a smith and his mother was a cook. Both had known and left Valinor, and often they would tell their son of the marvel of this peaceful place. 

Failindo joined the army as soon as he could, driven by the desire to keep his loved ones safe. With Maglor's army he commited horrors that haunt him still, but he succeeded to keep his mother safe, if not his father and saw her leave Middle-Earth as soon as they were allowed to go back to Valinor. 

After Morgoth was defeated and two remaining sons of Fëanor were lost, Failindo swore to never again touch a weapon and joined Eregion, taking there a late apprenticeship as a jeweller. He always did his best to stay discreet and unknown, though his work was always the best he could do. 

When Eregion fell, he met Laurelindo, who was to become his friend, and with whom he travelled to Imladris, whom he helped overcome the death of his parents, and with whom he began to travel again, still respecting his oath not to own nor use a weapon under any circonstances (strongly making him hope that stones and sticks found in the wild during emergency were not considered as weapons).

He now dwells in Imladris and will accompany Laurelindo back in Eregion when the time will come.
