   It is told that in the War of Wrath the fair lands of Beleriand were laid waste and sank beneath the deep waters of Belegaer, and Ossiriand (that had of old been named Lindon by his kin) was rent asunder and the mighty walls of Ered Luin were broken. Into that great gulf swept the sea, and by a new course the River Lhûn flowed into the firth; and the havens of Mithlond were raised by the folk of Gil-galad upon its shores, whence the First-born can still follow the Straight Road by ship and return to their kindred in Aman, the Blessed Realm, beyond the encircling seas.
   And in the Second Age of the world, long ago, many of the Eldar still dwelt in Lindon, unwilling yet to forsake Beleriand of old where they had lived and laboured long. But there were those who crossed the Ered Luin and passed eastwards into the inner lands, many of whom were survivors of Doriath and Ossiriand; and they established realms among the Silvan Elves in the woods and mountains of Middle-earth.

   The forebears of Feveren were Green-elves of Ossiriand who long abode within its elm-woods aforetime, and who lingered in Harlindon ever after. His mother and father were both born in those green-shadowed woodlands, and there in Eryn Milbar Feveren was also begotten in the twilight of the Third Age.
   He was a fanciful elf-child, and all his young life he hearkened to songs and tales of the Elder Days; thus a yearning was kindled in his heart to behold these far distant realms of his kindred, ere his kin take ship over the Uttermost Sea. And now, being but lately deemed full-grown by the elders of his clan who, sensing perhaps a change in the tides of the world, granted him leave to fare forth...

Father-name:

Tawardil: S. tawar ("forest") + ndîl ("friend")

Mother-name:

Feveren: fe (Nandorin rendering of Q. fëa, S. fae = "incarnate spirit, soul")
                + S. meren ("festive/gay/joyous") cf. 'Faemheren' in Doriathrin

Chosen name:

Methlegel: S. methen ("end/final") + Nan. Legel (S. Laegel = "Green-elf")

Little is known of the naming lore of the Úmanyar. However, in her essay Elven Naming Traditions of Middle-earth on Realelvish.net, Fiona contends that:

"The Elves of Beleriand are the ones most likely to have naming traditions echoing the traditions in Valinor [...] Therefore, when Doriath was conquered and the Sindar fled deeper into Middle-earth to live in the lands of other Telerin Elves, they brought these strong traditions and their language with them. Since the language was adopted, it doesn’t seem too strange that the naming traditions would come along too."

Calendar:

The Rivendell Reckoning Simulation is used, synchronizing the 1941-1942 Moon phases with Third Age 3018-19. Moon phases are based on the following:

"Either while the making of Time-scheme I was in progress or at some later point my father wrote at the head of the first page of it: Moons are after 1941–2 + 6 days. He changed this to + 5 days, and added: thus Full Moon Jan. 2 is Jan. 7."
