Outward Appearance

Bréaswith is a woman in her late twenties who stands tall at five feet and eight inches. Her long, straight hair is a cascade of honey-colored strands that gleam like spun gold under the sun's gentle caress. Within her blue-grey eyes is held a keen intelligence and an easily piqued curiosity. Her skin is lightly tanned and bears a dusting of freckles, a testament to days spent outdoors amidst the wildflowers and rustling grasses.

There is an undeniable confidence about her person, a quiet resolve that speaks volumes. She holds her head high and rarely looks back. The clothing she wears is simple, sturdy, and sewn with an array of pockets and pouches, perfectly suited to the demands of her lifestyle. In short, Bréaswith is every bit an Eorling woman that embodies the spirit of her people—proud, resilient, and unyielding in the face of life's challenges.

Background

Bréaswith’s story began in the quaint village of Marton, nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Westfold. She and her twin brother, Éaldorin, shared a bond as strong as the winds that swept across the fields. Together, they would race through the grass, playing games of pretend and daring each other to climb the tallest trees. But that idyllic childhood was shattered by the untimely death of their mother, whose passing cast a shadow over the entire family.

Their father, the village healer, was forced to be both provider and caregiver for the children. From a young age, Bréaswith had shown a deep connection to nature and an avid interest in the medicinal properties of plants. Thus, it was only natural that she would be taken under her father’s wing as an apprentice. She learned quickly the art of herbalism and became skilled in the tending of wounds and the crafting of remedies.

More than that, however, her experiences instilled in her a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for the people around her. Éaldorin, on the other hand, spent an increasing amount of time with their uncle and ultimately decided to follow in his footsteps by joining the King’s Riders. Their father disapproved, seeing it as the reckless pursuit of glory. Bréaswith could not help but feel somehow betrayed, torn between loyalty to her brother and father.

As they grew older, her resentment only deepened. She began to see Éaldorin’s choice as selfish, a shirking of obligation in the wake of their mother’s death. While he rode off to play hero, she remained behind, burdened with the weight of their father’s expectations, his failing health, and the duty of caring for their village. Determined to prove her worth, she has poured herself into being the steadfast anchor their people need in the tumultuous times ahead.
