Born in the beginning of the Third Age in Greenwood, he lived a quiet life studying the lore of Nature, with his parents and friends. During this time, Nelfahir learned from the library of the Woodland Realm and its experts mostly on the topics of history and nature of the area. He joined expeditions to find animals and plants, but also to visit old ruins and landmarks. While most of his colleagues adopted interest in gathering ancient artifacts to unravel old historical facts, Nelfahir found especial interest in making the best use of natural resources found in the forest to regain energy through cooking food so he could adventure more and be at his best, which everybody appreciated. He also learned about what was beneath the earth, as Nature does not stop at the surface, and managed to find worthy minerals that then he transformed into beautiful art pieces.

After the rise of the Necromancer after the first millenia of the Third Age the spiders and decay started spreading through Greenwood. Nelfahir’s parents, sensing the degeneration of Middle Earth, decided to depart to Valinor. Nelfahir decided to remain, as there was much to explore and learn, while still being able to help delay the decay that eventually would stain the area. But now the forest was more dangerous, and there were no expeditions for non-warriors like lore-masters. So he decided to explore alone since nobody wanted to go with him, to help the forest as much as he could. His knowledge of the forest and cooking kept him alive, but his lack of military training made him very vulnerable against the forces of Evil. Having no fighting knowledge, he used stealth and the Forest to hide and move undetected. He wields a staff and a sword, but can barely fight with those.

After Smaug captured the Ereborn and burned down Dale at TA 2770 he joined a group of elves that were heading to the Grey Havens to depart to Valinor. Nelfahir promised to his parents that eventually he would join them too, so he thought that this was a good opportunity to travel safely. They would stop at Rivendell, where he would be able to visit Elronbd’s library briefly before continuing. The group included Olriandis, a huntress with extensive knowledge of the land and of weapons, and they told each other their adventures. But once he arrived to Rivendell and Nelfahir engaged with the local scholars, he realised that there was still a lot to learn and explore around Middle Earth. And the local lands proved to be extremely interesting, novel, and exciting to just pass by. So Nelfahir decided to delay his trip across the Sea for some more centuries to continue exploring lands, helping Nature thrive, and delay the Shadow whenever he had a chance. Since exploring the unknown is always dangerous to do alone, he convinced Olriandis to join him due to their shared interest on adventures and exploration, as her expertise would help him remain alive and shared adventures are always better.
