Malyn was born in Dale but grew up in Bree where her family lived with Malyn's paternal grandmother in an old farmhouse. It is the last house before you come to the North Gate hobbit holes, so Malyn grew up listening to and falling in love with hobbit music. After losing her parents and her little brother, who were killed by brigants, she took care of her old grandmother (until recently). She likes growing plants - and especially flowers.

Malyn can be found in the Pony often, meeting friends, drinking cider, listening to music or playing a tune herself - mostly a special one that Barliman Butterbur likes in particular and asks her to play every time.
